13 months old

I can walk a few steps, unassisted. For the records, I took first steps in late August, as I turned 11 months. I can really let out a loud scream, this happens when something I want is not given to me, or some toy/article is taken away. Mama is not allowed to leave the room in my presence. I enjoy my bath and playing in water. One cannot go past a tap with me making my intentions clear by pointing. I love to empty things, be it my toy box, a set of sketch pens, or any container for that matter. I love to experiment by dismantling.Subject to my dismantling tendency have been the whistle of a pressure cooker. I also like to 'vakahr' Grandpa's office cupboard is my favorite spot for this. Today mummy noticed that I liked to put back things too. I continue to be friendly baby, the evidence of which is seen ocassionlly, for example when at the Doctors' clinic for my vaccine, I insist on talking to all the babies and kids. The other day when I visited my grandparents after a long time I showed how much I missed my grandpa by hugging him for about 20 minutes. No one could take me away from grandpa, not even my Mama..this show delighted my grandma no end. I have a special attraction for the broom. And yes, I love sticks in all forms, be it a ladle, shoe horn, pipes, bread sticks, brooms. This fascination of mine is well observed like the other day when I was at the club when my parents and grandparents were enjoying lunch and I was playing about, I managed to yank out what looked like a very long stick..about 6 times my length. I am told that it was a part of the skirting on the floor...Among the things I do not like are long car rides. At exactly half distance from either way between my grandparents houses I let my displeasure known. Grandparents vouch that this was the same when mama and my maushi were kids.

Birthday Party

Mama had pulled out all stops while organizing my Birthday Party!. Among the things that we did in preparation was to decide the venue and menu. I got to cut my big Birthday cake with a Mickey Mouse on it. A number of Aunties, Uncles and children arrived to celebrate with me and my parents. For the most part I enjoyed myself. I even modeled for the professional photographer hired to capture the event. Moreover, I can watch all the action later and my parents and family can cherish those moments. We were happy to note that the food was a major hit and liked by many. Here again I would like to thank everybody who graced the occasion and for all the love, best wishes and of course presents. Mama has stocked away all the gifts, to be opened a right time. Among the gifts I received are Fighter Planes, several cars, building blocks and stacking rings. I also hear that a cheque has been deposited into my bank account. On our way home from the venue Papa gave his verdict and declared the party a Grand success!

Day out at the farmhouse

On a fine saturday morning we set out to nandi for a picnic-i was very excited about it as it was the place where my great grandparents were born.We all packed into a nice big van and the ride was extremely comfortable-i even had a nice nap.On reaching the farmhouse i was delighted as the place was extremely beautiful.I could see the 5 hills of the nandi hill range. The place was extremely peaceful and the beautiful farmhouse seemed to be located perfectly-nested comfortably at the foothills. There was a nice undulating lawn for me to play.I played with gay abandon and had lots of fun-there was a lot of place to play in with no limits which was particularly enjoyable. We had packed in lunch and had the perfect picnic. The elders were all busy in eating and having a good time while i was busy having my own!!!!

Slide- And Delight!

Day out at the Club

It was a trip down memory lane for Mummy and my grandparents when in preparation of my Birthday party, I was taken to the play area of Bangalore Club! and Boy! did I enjoy myself...The pictures are self evident..ofcourse I would like to visit this palce often and that was about a month ago! Yesterday my parents took me to the Indiranagar club play area as well..This time I have made it very clear that I enjoy the playground by not letting go of the pony on which I was perched. The swing and the sand came in for some attention. Crossword is a book store near my palce and I surprised papa and mama by turning the pages of a book...Mummy has made a mental note that these are on the must visit places for ME!

One Year Old

On the morning of September 29, 2007, there was a general buzz in the air....I knew there was something special on that day since my Papa and Mama were very happy....yes it has been 12 months since I arrived into this world.... I turned One year old.
My Mom recalled her experience of delivering me and my Pa the moment he held me for the first time.......The day was celebrated with a arti in the Ganapati temple. Grandma and Ma performed arti and then a cake cutting ceremony followed by a sumptuous lunch...
Grandma and Grandpa had in their usual style decorated the place with colour paper and balloons. I was delighted. I also received a lot of gifts and I want to thank, Grandma, Grand pa, sonamaushia and priya maushi for their wishes, gifts, cards and all their love.
Then we had a huge party the next day
