Communication

One day while I was being fed by Granma and the Maid some milk, I pointed out that the milk was warm by saying ‘bisi’ to the maid and ‘gamm’(garam) to Granma.

In the same vein…when I am done with whatever food I am being fed I say.. ‘bas’ to Granma 'saku’ to the maid…

…..I do a double take to make sure I am understood :)

My conversations.

Mama: What is your Mama’s name?
Rono: Mamma

Mama: What is your Pappa's name?
Rono: Pappa

Mama: Mother
Rono: Gusse(Goose of Mother Goose fame)

Song, Music and Dance

Manytimes my meals are in the company of ‘Barney’ ‘Baby Bop’ and Mother Ghoose.
One day my meal extended beyond the duration of the dvd, so the channel was changed and the ‘Dola Re’ song was playing. I watched with keen interest..I like song and dance numbers…...and when the shorter artist in the song came to dance…I watched for a while….
……and insisted it was ‘Mama’…’Mama’
……that was about a week ago….Mama has not stopped beaming since.

Biscuits

My early morn breakfast consists of a particular brand of biscuits. I like them. The other day Mama bought the same brand but a different variety with chocolate cream in it….and whatever Gramna tried I insisted I pick the biscuit from the packet myself……

any amount of cajoling by telling me it is the same ....giving me my particular brand and variety by pretending it was a part of the the other pack... did not help…..

Finally I won….

…..and my family realized I relate the design of the packet to the biscuit....there was a slight differnce in the design of the two packets.

Parks

Sometimes in the evenings we go to a nearby park. Things which interest me here are…
Leaves and plants …...I can observe the leaves, trees and plants for long span of time…
My granma calls me a architect, given my constant observation…my Pappa has further added a landscape to that…and its landscape architect

My other interests are balls ….they have to be the ones the other children are playing with….I ignore the ones that I own…and go chasing after the others.

I also like to take long walks…

Coffee…

and we went to Pappa favorite SLV for idli’s……specifically the rava idlis….and when it is time for the filter coffee…my Pappa got the piping hot coffee to the table and equated it to the ‘chaha’… which I am more familiar with .or so my Pappa thought…and then he was in for a big big surprise…when I said what is got was “cooofeee”…..!!

Now let me tell you a secret…just before my Pappa came with the coffee… my Mamma was telling me that Pappa will be coming with ‘coffee’….
May be it was that or I recalled from the last time we were in the same place…and my Mamma had told me about the ‘coffee’….....and if it was my memory from the last visit…...then its Mummy’s turn to be mighty surprised!!

Happy Mothers Day

I wished my Mom this.....…..…we were at a ice-cream parlour celebrating Motherhood on May 11. I was happily enjoying my Mango ice cream when mama told me what all the celebration was about.and I made a sincere attempt to Say 'Happy Mothers Day'

I love you Mama. this is the next sentence Mama is getting me to say....

My sentences and words

Grannpa gassh (glass)
Grannpa bottel (bottle)
Grannpa ten bottel (bottle)
Grannpa Shap ( sharp, when I see a knife or scissors or the mixer)
Grannpa fannn (fan is my favorite object, I can spot a fan anywhere and everywhere, and I insist on drawing the attention of my family members to it)
Gramma sleep (one early morning this was my sentence to Grandpa when I spotted my Granma asleep).
Baby crying (when I heard a baby cry at the ice cream parlour )
Icecream chan chan (at mama favorite ice cream parlor)

My little accomplishments have to have grandpa’s involvement and awareness, I ensure that by saying the above sentences..

Nursery Rhymes

I say the ‘AFTER’ which is the last word of the 'Jack and Jill Rhyme' and “UP” from the twinkle twinkle rhyme.
Granma was singing this song for me and happened to be distracted midway, I brought her back on track by prompting “UP”
……above the sky so high

Ada....

My cousins Ada and Perie..visited. and I can only attempt to describe how much fun that was!! But that is another post...what I want to record here is how that visit has made an impression on me...
and I remember ADA everyday ..when I see the toy phone, the toys (which she gifted me), her floral clothes (which were left behind)... and I say ADA...ADA...ADA...with a smile.
Today a song played with 'ADA' in it and I was again reminded...I was also reminded when another song played on radio which is the same song on my cycle..
In my everyday routine I say 'Uno' the way ADA would say it, and then say ADA and vice versa many times......Uno is how ADA pronounced my name.
.....and by the way when I say ADA I mean both my cousins..ADA and PERIE..

Icecream chhan chhan

I absolutely love ice creams. I repeat this sentence many times a day. It all started a few days ago when we went to the ice cream parlour and I was introduced to ice creams, and what an introduction that was! I heard my Mom and grandparents say that they would take me to the ice cream parlour everyday..... if it was possible. I love ice creams and I am saying that again and again at home and here. For the records my favorite is Mango.
